New Music Ensemble
A Student-Faculty Collaboration
The spirit of innovation.
Each New Music Ensemble concert features the best, most challenging repertoire of the past 120 years. Recent concerts have featured music by Jennifer Higdon, Alexandra Gardner, Erin Graham, Timothy Kramer, and Nicole Murphy. During the pandemic, students joined together over teleconferencing software to collaborate with composers like David MacDonald to experiment with compositions designed with latency in mind.
A Rewarding Experience
Having the opportunity to rehearse and perform with faculty members was such a rewarding experience! Excited about new music, I loved the repertoire and enjoyed the challenge of preparing and performing it!
